【讲座通知】UCLDH: Digital Humanities research and teaching at UCL

主讲人:Simon Mahony

时间:6月28日下午三点

地点:上海大学东校区计算机楼J101(南陈路333号)

简介:The UCL Centre for Digital Humanities (UCLDH) is a cross-faculty research centre bringing together a vibrant network of people who teach and research in a wide range of disciplines. As well as research, and consulting, we have developed a graduate level programme which is offered by the Department of Information Studies. An important part of this is to introduce students to some of the things that practitioners in the digital humanities community take for granted such as digital resources and how they might be used as research tools to prompt new ways of thinking. Our students have a wide variety of academic backgrounds and range of skill levels. How we accommodate learners at different skills levels, engaging them to make their learning experience meaningful, are some of the challenges that we face when designing a digital humanities graduate programme. This talk is based on experience built up over many years of teaching at various levels. UCLDH has a world class research profile which allows us to involve our students so that they can learn through participating in research and enquiry within their programme of study. I will showcase some of our prestigious and award-winning projects, outline the work of some of our PhD students along with master's level projects designed to develop their research skills.
